The 4th SBA Global Academy Summer Camp Held Successfully

From June 25th to July 7th, the 4th Global Academy Summer Camp organized by the School of Business Administration (SBA) of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) was successfully held at Liulin Campus of SWUFE. 47 international students and 1 faculty from 14 countries and 16 partner universities from all corners of the world gathered in the land of abundance-Chengdu. Under the theme of "Corporate Green Innovation and Sustainability", the Summer Camp invited numerous experts and scholars of different industries from various institutions such as Audencia Business School, Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology, and SWUFE to deliver a series of specialized academic lectures on innovation, sustainable development, and business management. These lectures bridged leading-edge research achievements and international hot topics and created an unprecedented platform for international academic exchange for the participants. The Summer Camp received strong support from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office (Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office) of SWUFE, with preparations carried out by the International Affairs Office of SBA and the Sino-French Innovation Research Center.

On the morning of June 26th, the Summer Camp officially marked its opening in J303 of Gezhi Building. Professor Liao Yi, Vice Dean of SBA, and Professor Tang Mingfeng, Assistant Dean of SBA, attended the opening along with all the participants, volunteers and staffs. On behalf of the leadership team of SBA, Professor Liao Yi delivered the opening speech, extending a warm and sincere welcome with an expectation of a wonderful experience to the participants from all over the world. Professor Tang Mingfeng provided a detailed introduction to Sichuan, Chengdu, SWUFE, and SBA.

The two-week Summer Camp was filled with a rich variety of activities, including visits to the SWUFE History Museum and the Currency Museum, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the university's historical heritage. When visiting the Panda Base, participants had the opportunity to observe the adorable and charming Chinese "national treasure" up close. From Kuanzhai Alley, Wuhou Shrine, and Sichuan Museum, to Chinese paper cutting, Chinese calligraphy, and Sichuan cooking activities, the Ba-Shu culture sparkles the glory of the Chinese traditional culture, and the splendid sparks ignited by the collision of different cultures left an unforgettable impression to the participants. They not only absorbed the international academic knowledge, but also experienced the latest science and technology. In the final presentation, international students cooperated in groups, applying their studies and experiences, and integrating the deep impression of both Chengdu and SWUFE, in the result of handing in a satisfactory answer.

At the closing ceremony of SBA on the evening of July 7th, the participant and volunteer representatives delivered speeches, followed by the closing remarks by Professor Liao Yi. The wonderful Chinese classical dance, sitcom, and song and dance performance ignited the atmosphere of the farewell party. The 4th SBA Global Academy Summer Camp was culminated in a chorus of the song "We Are the World".

This year, adhering to the theme of "Corporate Green Innovation and Sustainability" in the new era, and creating a friendly environment of communication with the spirit of one world one family, the Summer Camp provided an open and free exchange platform for appreciating the distinctive charm of Sichuan, Chengdu, and spreading the voice of SWUFE by a series of high-quality and multi-type academic and cultural experiences. While demonstrating the self-confidence of China and conveying Chinese wisdom, it enhanced the communication and collision between Chinese and foreign cultures, which has been highly praised and recognized by international students and faculty. All the participants will serve as ambassadors of SWUFE Global Academy, carrying the fruitful experiences back to their home countries and universities to publicize the culture of Chengdu and spread the spirit of SWUFE to more international students and faculties.
